A thank you note from the Resilience Engineering Association and the Executive Committee.
We would like to share our appreciation of Ivonne Herrera for the four years she served as the President of the Resilience Engineering Association. Ivonne kept us together and moving forward as we all struggled with the pandemic. It was, in fact, a time when Resilience Engineering was needed more than ever. Under Ivonne’s leadership, REA hosted 10 webinars focused on how different industries from software to aviation to maritime to healthcare could apply resilience engineering principles to navigate the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Ivonne had the idea that we could proceed with a symposium, with small meetings synchronized and together, virtually, throughout the world – and we did it. Ivonne leads with heart and invites rich and diverse voices from all over the globe to join the conversation on resilience engineering. Ivonne, we thank you for teaching all of us how to be better leaders and for leading REA through the most difficult of times.
