Are we ready to adopt and to adapt resilience principles in practice? In this article, Luca and Daniele from the Italian Company Deep Blue relate resilience management to the COVID-19 crisis using experiences from the European funded project “DARWIN – Expect the unexpected and know how to respond”. The knowledge shared is based on a pilot exercise addressing a novel disease outbreak during a flight expected to land at Rome Fuimicino Airport. They describe the translation of resilience management guidelines on the following topics: promoting common ground, noticing brittleness and communication strategies with the public.
